How is this different from HTML5 Websocket? Does this use WCF websocket?

It is a generic socket server framework which doesn't define any other application layer protocol except command line protocol.

But HTML5 Websocket a protocol base on the raw TCP socket:

There is already a WebSocket server implementation base on SuperSocket:

Thanks for your information.  I was looking at Microsoft WCF Websocket.  It looked promising. If I want to build a feature rich chat room using ASP.NET MVC, What would be an advantage or disadvantage of using SuperSocket in terms of performance, reliability, and security, compared to using the WCF Websocket?

No.

You are talking about SuperWebSocket.

SuperWebSocket is not equal SuperSocket.

Please don't compare SuperSocket with WCF websocket, because they are not things in same level.

I am not familiar with WCF websocket, but I think SuperWebSocket would be the most powerful WebSocket server implementation in .NET which is not come from MS.

Please refer to SuperWebSocket, http://superwebsocket.codeplex.com/
And use WebSocket4Net in your windows application as client, http://websocket4net.codeplex.com/
